DEPARTMENT OF CATECHISM
THE EMBLEM
- The lamp at the centre symbolizes the Department of Cattechesis itself. The mission of the department is to throw light upon the Word of God, The Bible.
- Jesus, the first and the real teacher, as shown above, teaches His beloved children, His Word, with the help of the Catechetical Centre, the lamp. The ultimate aim of the Catechetical formation is to lead to the knowledge and expericence that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life as given in the emblem.
- The dictum is given in Hindi so as to emphasize the cultural identification with the state we are living in.
- The St. Thomas Cross shown in the background symbolizes the cultural heritage of our particular Church and the rich God - experience that St. Thomas, the father of our faith handed down to us through the centuries. The Catechesis in our Eparchy has its basis on this particular heritage.
- The letter CCDK on the lamp stands for Catechetical Centre, Eparchy of Kalyan'.
VISION
Faith formation of children aiming at spiritual, ecclesial and social growth.
OBJECTIVES
The Faith Formation Ministry shall have the following objectivies:
- To provide a platform of Faith Formation, value education, worship and service.
- To create leadership qualities among our children.
- To help children to realize our unique and distinct identity as St. Thomas Christians in the Diocese of Kalyan.
- To provide the children to exhibit their hidden talents at various religious and cultural events of the Church.
